Christians everywhere are united by a common heritage and scripture. The Episcopal Church was formed soon after the United States of America was founded. It retains the traditions of the Church of England, many of which are shared by Roman Catholics and Protestants of other denominations. The Diocese of Pennsylvania is the oldest Diocese in The Episcopal Church. Many of the Founding Fathers were parishioners in this diocese. There are a number of helpful web pages for interested Christians, seekers, and others who want to know more about our Church and what we believe: The Seekers Center - What makes us Christian? What is the Episcopal Church about? ComeAndGrow.org - Insights into how the Episcopal Church helps us grow in understanding, gratitute, service, and peace. Anglicans Online - Information about belief, liturgy, the Bible, music and more. Check out the AO News Centre for updates on the Anglican world. Father Mark has written more about the organization of the Church, its people and its sources of authority. More about official membership in the parish and qualifications for voting at the annual meeting is here. |
